1U distributed power front-end

Emerson Network Power produces three series of 1U high ac-dc front-end power supplies for systems that use distributed power architectures (DPA) and intermediate bus architectures (IBA).

The HPS35 series of 1U high ac-dc front-end power supplies comprises three 350 watt models, each with a single output of 12, 24 or 48 Vdc. Up to four power supplies can be fitted in a standard 19-inch rack to provide a total output power of 1,400 watts. The power supplies feature a wide-range ac input and active power factor correction, and are comprehensively protected against fault conditions.

The DS series of 1U high ac-dc front-end power supplies currently comprises 12 different models, with individual power output ratings from 450 watts to 2,000 watts. Most of these power supplies are available with a choice of wide-range ac inputs or dc inputs, and are designed to produce a main 12 Vdc output and a secondary 3.3 Vdc (optional 5.0V dc) standby output. Three of the models within the series produce 48 Vdc outputs, and one model – the DS657-9-3 – produces dual 12/48 Vdc outputs. The latest additions to this popular and expanding range of power supplies feature PMBus™ compliant control and monitoring functions.

The UFE series of 1U high digitally programmable ac-dc front-end power supplies are very high power density units. There are currently two models in the series – a 24 Vdc output model with a power rating of 1,300 watts, and 48Vdc output model with a power rating of 2,000 watts. Both power supplies have an exceptionally compact 5.5 x 10.7 inch footprint and a height of just 1.6 inches, enabling up to three supplies to be contained on a single 1U high 19 inch rack-mounting chassis.
